Meet the Makers...
Albino Neutrino was entirely conceived, designed and hand-coded from scratch on a simple text editor by Frank O'Connor. He's the one on the right. The psychopath.
On the left is his wonderful wife Tia, who jointly owns and runs the O'Connor business: Seahorse Design. We specialise in web applications that facilitate communication.

Albino Neutrino is based on two MySql tables. These store the entries, which are themselves written in XML. The reason they are written in XML is that we always like to keep one eye on the future. The reason they are stored in MySql is that this makes it easier to navigate the information with PHP.
The site parses the XML using its own dedicated parser. This renders the XML into XHTML friendly chunks, which are what you see on the page in your browser. PHP is used extensively, because, basically, there is nothing like a web site that can adapt to circumstance.
The finished page is (or should be) in valid XHTML strict. That means that the page content is ready for most current and future web devices - mobiles, palm tops. printers, whatever. The styling is ALL handled with CSS. The resulting separation between style and content gives even more flexibility, which is great, not to mention the economy of server space and the increased download speeds that result from this approach.
The actual content of the site is supposed to entertain. If it informs, so much the better. Most of it is bizarre.

Christmas Neutrino - the first dull scratch.
Welcome to Albino Neutrino, the web log of Frank O'Connor, an Irishman running his own web design firm in Romania, Eastern Europe.
This log will deal with a random range of topics - artistic, technical, Romanian, food-oriented, literary, odd, unusual, perverse and concerned with pipe cladding. Mr. O'Connor is no fan of regimentation and order, as anyone foolish enough to continue reading this log will soon discover.
This log is powered by - nothing. I made it myself. Powered by luck, you could say, if it is powered at all, which will probably only happen occasionally. It uses MySql to store entries written in XML, which is then parsed through PHP to bring you the page you see before you today.
In a miracle of timing and co-incidence, today is Christmas Day. Happy Christmas readers. Here is a picture of the snow outside my window on Christmas Eve.

As you can see, I live in the Bladerunner district of Romania.
